Education
Dr. Adams earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Anderson University, where she also minored in Chemistry. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, graduating in 2016.
During her clinical training, Dr. Adams gained extensive hands-on experience through externships at referral and surgical centers, with exposure to oculoplastics, retina, cataract surgery, LASIK, and glaucoma management.
Prior to joining Coastal Eye Group, Dr. Adams held faculty appointments at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences – Jones Eye Institute and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center – Hamilton Eye Institute, where she provided comprehensive eye care and remained actively involved in the education of residents and medical students.
While at the Hamilton Eye Institute, Dr. Adams spent five years as part of a research team at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She provided eye care and evaluations as part of the St. Jude LIFE Study, a long-term survivorship program following patients after completion of therapy. She has also contributed to the field through ophthalmic publications, including a case report on ocular complications following cataract surgery.

Dr. Adams has been a member of Coastal Eye Group since 2024 and is the practice’s newest provider. She specializes in post-operative care and works closely with glaucoma patients, with a strong focus on patient education and proactive disease management. Her commitment to ongoing learning allows her to deliver up-to-date, patient-centered glaucoma care.
